The Threshing Floor Part One

We live in a world that is becoming more and more dangerous to be a Christian. We are now on the fast track to the End Times and the Lord’s return. It is time for the Great Harvest and for the church to arise glorious and bold. Jesus commanded that we go into all the earth and make disciples not converts of all men. However, He did not stop there. He then made an incredible statement…

“And these signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;

They will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it shall not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Mark 16: 17, 18

If you take time to allow what He just said to sink in it will blow your mind. He has great expectation of us. Yet if you look carefully, the power is in believing and in His Name. We fail to fully comprehend the power of that Name. We live in a world where terrorism is taking over and we see the strong man of terror seek to claim this earth. But Jesus is the stronger strong man. All authority is in the Name. What an awesome privilege and responsibility to carry the Name. For too long we have operated under brain tissue knowledge and respect for the Name. We have put our toes into the waters of His glory and the brave few their feet. But the hour is late and the time has come to jump into deeper waters. The truth is a change is coming. We live in an hour where we must chose. The day of playing church is ended and soon being a Christian will come at great cost. Yet being a Christian comes with great power. It is time for an encounter with Him. We need an encounter with His Name until the authority of that Name consumes us. The early church saw what Jesus did. They understood the power of the Name. They understood fully what the Name represented.

“Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer;

And a certain man who had been lame from his mother’s womb as being carried along… And when he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he began asking to receive alms.

And Peter, along with John, fixed his gaze upon him and said, ‘Look at us!’

And he began to give tem his attention expecting to receive something from them.

But Peter said, ‘I do not possess silver and gold, but what I have do I give to you, ‘In the Name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene – walk!’

And seizing him by the right hand he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened.

And with a leap, he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.”

Acts 3: 1-8

Wow! There is a lot in these few verses. Let’s start with the fact that the ninth hour was the hour of prayer. Prayer must become such a critical part of your life that you set time aside to prayer and seek heaven. A five minute prayer will not cut it. We need bold prayer that comes from extended time spending seeking His face. We need fervent prayer birthed out of time spent before Him. We need like this beggar an encounter. We need to appreciate we face an enemy sold out to a cause, our destruction. For too long we have allowed the enemy access as we sought to be nice. We were pressurized to be political correct yet our enemy has not given an inch. Yet with ever inch we conceded he took a mile.

Everything starts with an encounter. It seems like just a normal day but He has a plan and He about to interrupt your schedule. We need the foundations of our life shaken until the only things that remain are founded in Him. It is time to awake from our sleep. Open wide your eyes and look around. The days are getting dark and the enemy is boldly advancing. It is time for the church to arise. But we must do it boldly and in the confidence of His Name. We have become too distracted. The Spirit is calling and seeking our attention. O to hear His voice. O to fix our eyes of Him in this hour. Our walk is about to change. He is about to life us from our mud and mire. Change is coming.
